Welcome to our SPECIAL EVENTS info page. Our special events are created to strengthen families, establish community connections and enrich our on-going ministries.
What is a MILESTONE?
“MILESTONES” are special age-specific family events, offered to reach children at peak-interest ages. They are also designed to equip and empower parents in talking about faith-topics with their kids.

This unique workshop is offered in September, as a transition from TrainingWheels to CrossTraining, for new Kindergarteners and their parents. Come find out how St. Andrew's endeavors to nuture your child's spiritual development.

First Grade Family Milestone

In our Kindergarten class, our children hear stories about God's people that follow the pattern of the "Church Year Calendar." It is a fun and easy way to remember "who we are as followers of God." In our First Grade Family Milestone, we'll have fun as a family exploring the different seasons and special days of our church year together through activities, games, learning centers and maybe even a science experiment! Not only will your family learn more about who we are as God's followers, you'll have fun getting to know other families with first graders, too. This class is offered in the fall.

Second Grade Family Milestone

This class is offered to help second graders (and their parents) learn how to worship together as the family of God. You and your child will explore, question and discover what we do and why we do it, when we worship. This is an interactive, hands-on and informative event which is offered in the Winter.

Third Grade Bible Presentation

All families with 3rd graders are invited to participate in an "all-year" process where our 3rd graders learn about the Bible and do memory work on key Bible passages, as well as specific doctrines of the faith. Bibles are presented in worship the weekend of May 2 and 3, 2009, followed by an invitation of families to a celebratory brunch at the home of Dr. Huffman.

Fifth Grade Preparing for Adolescence
PFA is a course for 5th graders and their parents to take together (boys and girls taught separately). This class will help generate an open dialogue about puberty, hygiene, nutrition, peer pressure, the media, self-esteem, reproduction and more! The course material (excluding the religious context) was written by the Birds & Bees Connection exclusively to help parents and tweens feel comfortable about talking with one and other about puberty and adolescence. Classes are held in the Fall for 6 weeks.
